Why I do, what I do!

I am a mother of two young children living in the Adironadack region of New York. I've been a stay at home mother since the birth of my first child 7 years ago. It seems as though every year that has passed since, has become more and more difficult to make "ends meat" on just my husbands salary. We had our second child almost 3 years ago now. Since birth she was diagnosed with a Unilateral hearing loss, which means she can only hear out of one ear. We have been very fortunate to be receiving in home services for her to aide in her speech developement. And currently she is receiving 6 visits per week, and my husband works the second shift for our school district. With all of my family's daily needs, it would be impossible for me to be able to go out and get a job that would pay me enough to make it worth babysitting expenses and everything else that comes with a paying job. So, in short six months ago I knew that I had to do something to either make some extra money to help our family or try to save money some how. When I decided to really start to use coupons and look at some of the other women's websites and blogs, I was truely amazed at how much money you could save just by clipping and using coupons. And the more that I read, watched & learned about how to use coupons more effectively I knew that this was something I had to put into action right away. It did not take long to have a binder full of coupons, and a pantry full of food. And all I can say now is that I never leave home with out my kids or my coupons! Being able to use coupons in an effective way has truely helped my family to be able to afford what we need. And now that I know as much as I do (even though I still have plenty to learn) I have started to give classes to some family and friends to try and help them save money as well. Learning to use coupons in an effective way, can be very over whelming, and most people that try with out someone to guide them, will more than likely give up before they can really see the benefits. With all of that said I am hoping that this blog will become a very useful tool to help guide my local friends to a successful appreciation and knowlendge of the power of a coupon!
